Living Nature has pioneered truly natural skincare for over 23 years, setting some of the world's highest standards for safe, effective and 100% natural skincare and cosmetics. We were one of the first companies to produce skincare without the use of synthetic preservatives.

BDIH - World-leading independent auditor

Living Nature's extensive range of skincare and cosmetics carries the BDIH Certified Natural Cosmetics Seal. We choose to be certified by German-based BDIH as they are a world-leading independent auditor of natural skincare, and set set some of the most rigorous standards worldwide for naturalness. They extend far beyond the ingredients, taking into account the environmental impact of sourcing raw materials and production, how the ingredients are handled, genetic modification and consumers' expectations. The standards also ban the use of radioactive radiation to disinfect and what's more, a company's entire range must meet the criteria in order to achieve Certification.

It's an extremely difficult certification to gain, which is why we're so proud to be BDIH certified, and in many cases to exceed their standards. We're also visited by a BDIH auditor every year, so when we say 'certified natural', you know we've earned it. Read more about BDIH here .

Whole Foods Premium Body Care Standards

Many of our products also proudly carry the  Whole Foods Premium Body Care symbol.

As the USA's largest retailer of natural skincare, Whole Foods have created Premium Body Care to identify the most exceptional personal care products available, with the strictest natural standards. It took Whole Food's experts more than two years to meticulously examine each and every personal care ingredient. Using the most current safety and efficacy data, research and resources available they evaluated each product ingredient in the four key areas of quality sourcing, environmental impact, results and safety, identifying over 400 ingredients unacceptable for Premium Body Care.

Naturally preserved

At Living Nature we are firmly committed to 100% natural skincare, free from any potentially harmful synthetic preservatives (such as parabens or phenoxyethanol). While many companies may claim that only small amounts of these synthetic chemicals are used, increasing research is demonstrating that it is the cumulative effect of these substances in the body that cause long-term harmful health effects.*

Living Nature products are naturally preserved, with a shelf-life of 2 years for our skincare (some cosmetics and Oils have a longer shelf-life). Many unique New Zealand ingredients have strong antimicrobial properties, and its the combination of these powerful, natural ingredients which we have used to preserve each product. The result: perfectly preserved, beautifully fragranced, 100% natural products.

Product purity is ensured by the stringent hygiene protocols of our Kerikeri factory - where we control every step of product development, formulation, testing and filling. Our unique packaging is also specifically designed to protect the contents from external contamination and contact with air.
